History: Henry Mason and Emmons Hamlin established their reed organ company in the year 1854. By 1883, Mason & Hamlin started manufacturing pianos. After undergoing many ownership changes spanning more than a century, the piano company has finally resided in the hands of Burgett brothers who have advanced the company into the 21st century incorporating computer controlled machinery with age old piano building techniques.
Mason & Hamlin have expanded their line to include 2 other tiers of pianos. These are the Artist and Classic lines. The Virtuoso X series is the premier line made in the USA while both the Artist and Classic series are made in China as a more affordable option. The Artist differentiates from the Classic in that it features a WNG carbon fiber action with anodized aluminum action and keyboard parts while the Classic has a traditional wooden action with carbon fiber shanks and flanges.
