Review: When I tried the Yamaha CF4 grand piano I found it to be incredibly uniform in tone and touch. It seemed heavier than I would have expected, but with a firmer touch also comes what I would describe as a wider expression palette especially at pianissimo and mezzo-forte levels. The tone is conservative and neither leaning towards bright or mellow in the mid range and top. The low notes were shaded slightly darker and provide a wonderful ‘accompaniment bass’. A pleasure to play and a pleasure to listen to.
